Quick guide to DWC

Opened to customers in 2013, Dubai World Central is Dubai’s second airport with a current capacity of 26 million passengers a year.

From now until the end of May, DWC will operate many additional flights due to the refurbishment of the southern runway at Dubai International (DXB).
Here’s some handy info for passengers flying from DWC.

Location
DWC is located in the south of the city, less than 30 minutes from ‘New Dubai’ including the bustling Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah.

Transportation 

– Airport express

During DXB’s runway closure, a free express bus service will run between DXB and DWC every 30 minutes, stopping at all three terminals at DXB.

– RTA taxis DWC has a dedicated fleet of taxis operated by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). During the DXB runway project, the taxi flag fare from DWC has been reduced from AED25 to AED5. Shared taxis are also available.

– Private taxis

Customers with the Careem app can take advantage of a 25% discount using the code FLYDWC.

– Buses

The RTA is running additional bus services, departing hourly from DWC.
Route 1: DWC – Ibn Battuta Metro Station – Mall of Emirates Metro Bus Station – Business Bay Metro Station – Satwa Bus Station.
Route 2: DWC – Ibn Battuta Metro Station – Mall of Emirates Metro Bus Station – Business Bay Metro Station – Union Metro Station – Abu Hail Metro Station.
Buses cost a flat fee of AED7.5 using a Nol card, which must be purchased before boarding the bus. More info

Car parking 
DWC has a shaded 2,500-capacity car park which is 100% free for customers.

Shopping and dining
Food outlets at DWC include McDonald’s, Costa and Mezzanine and Al Jadeed Bakery. For shopping – from gifts to travel essentials – head to Dubai Duty Free. Look out for pop-ups from Nutella, Heineken, Costa and Grabb’it, as well as a Rock Shop from Hard Rock Cafe.

Lounges 
All customers can pay to enter DWC’s Marhaba Lounge to relax in style.

Airlines 
During DXB’s 45-day runway project, DWC will handle flights from flydubai, Wizz Air, Aeroflot, Indigo, SpiceJet, Gulf Air, Ukraine International Airlines, Ural Airlines, Nepal Airlines, Kuwait Airways and flynas.
